What is juice feasting?
Juice feasting is making and drinking only freshly made fruit and vegetable juices as well as supplements as described in detail on David and Katrina Rainoshek's website www.juicefeasting.com. Juice feasting alkalizes, cleanses, rebuilds and rehydrates every cell in your body, changing you on a cellular level.
What is green juice feasting?
This is juice feasting without the fruit juices. The juices are made primarily with cucumbers, celery, and bunches of greens. See here for how to make delicious green juices. I did a green juice feast for three weeks last November, and I just recently completed a 32 day green juice feast.

Why Green Juice Feast?
It may eliminate candida and other blood sugar issues
I chose to juice feast with just vegetables and low glycemic fruits (such as cucumbers and red peppers) since I have candida issues, and consuming only low glycemic vegetables starves the organisms that feed off the sugar in the fruit. In time (three to six months) of only eating a low glycemic diet according to Gabriel Cousens, the candida issues, molds, fungus and any other critters will have nothing to feed from and they will die off.
To gain high calm energy
During my recent 30 plus day green juice feast, the biggest benefit to me was an almost constant feeling of high calm energy.
I am presently quite a busy being - changing my entire life:
- changing careers (from math teacher at an excellent boarding school to being an entrepreneur - opening my own yoga studio and raw food coaching business)
- Packing and moving from northwest Connecticut to Cape Cod, Massachusetts

closing out the school year while starting to work on my new business.
- enrolled in a Raw Coach business building course with Karen Knowler
To become more consciously aware
I find that being more present in every moment is easier and just comes more naturally with juice feasting.
I did stop juice feasting about a week ago since I was feeling some time pressure. I was thinking about the time I was spending going to purchase organic greens (about 1/2 hour drive from me, twice per week), as well as the time I was spending washing the greens and creating the juices.
But, I really miss green juice feasting! I miss the calm high energy. I miss not craving anything. I miss the really deep changes I was getting on all levels of being. (See some of the changes here.) I'm not liking that my old habits of going for nuts and dried fruit (which typically happens to me when I'm pressured for time) for a fast raw meal are already coming back.
So, I'm thinking of doing another Green Juice Feast - for the Busy Being. I think that although it takes a bit more time in some ways, in other ways if I can actually get healthier on all levels of being while I am in the deepest midst of this time pressure transition, then wow! what a profound sublime thing Green Juice Feasting can be in times of stress. When I was Green Juice Feasting, I just didn't feel the stress of it all. I want That back. If I can get mentally prepared, I'm thinking of starting June 1. I'll go for either 1, 2 or 3 weeks. Perhaps 21 days...

Thanks for giving such precise information about your experence. I have read about starving candida organisms before but this was done by way of a fast and I was certain that a person couldn't fast longer than it takes for the organisms to die. I don't know if I'm ready for a green feast. Currently where I live it is very hard to find a constant suppily of organic veggies. I will be moving to California soon, so when I'm there I'll give it a try and post my results. A calm energy sounds great.
